Solar System for Kids

Solar System

The Solar System consists of the Sun and everything that orbits around it, including the planets, their moons, the dwarf planets, asteroids, Kuiper belt objects, comets, meteoroids, interplanetary dust and gas. There are eight planets and five dwarf planets, with their 173 known moons in our solar system. A continuous flow of plasma from the Sun, called solar wind, permeates the solar system.
