Chemical Reactions
Chemical reaction is a process by which one or more substances may be transformed into one or more new substances. In a chemical reaction, energy may be released or absorbed, but there is no loss in total molecular weight. The reacting substances, called reactants, lose their characteristic chemical properties after the reaction. Moreover, the new substances formed after a chemical reaction usually differ from the original substances in the energy they contain.
