Agriculture

Agriculture

Agriculture refers to the human activity of cultivating crops and plantations for production of food and goods such as fibers, biofuels, animal feed etc. In a broader sense, agriculture also includes breeding and raising livestock, poultry and dairying. Over one-third of human population is actively involved in agricultural production. Agriculture began over 10,000 years ago and has been the key factor that gave rise to human civilization.
