| ALLIES The main allies for world war two include: -Soviet Union -United States -British Empire | ||||
| AXIS POWERS The main axis powers include: -Germany -Japan -Italy | ||||
| PRESIDENCY Franklin D. Roosevelt was the president for most of the gruesome World War 2. During war he died in office and had to be replaced by Harry S. Truman. | ||||
| DICTATOR The dictator of Germany was none other than Adolf Hitler. Prime Minister or President are elected by the fellow citizens. But dictators just go on in and take over countries. They force in and take total control of the country and everyone in it. | ||||
| WHAT HAPPENED?? Germany invaded many countries such as --- -France -Poland -Denmark -Norway -Luxembourg -Holland -Belgium Germany including Hitler wanted to take over the whole world and make what he thought was a "perfect race". | ||||
| THE BLITZ... The Blitz was when Hitler decided to try and take over Britain. He was blowing up Britain's ships, air crafts, radar stations and more. So Britain had to fight back and flew their airplanes to try and stop them. This got Hitler angry and he started blowing up civilians mostly in London. So they had to make bombing shelters underground to protect themselves | ||||
| WHO DIDN'T WANT WAR?? The United States wanted to stay neutral during World War 2. U.S had lost so many people and soldiers and was dealing with problems such as The Great Depression. | ||||
| PEARL HARBOR! The attack on Pearl Harbor was what made U.S join World War 2. The Japanese had come over to destroy the Naval Base that was stationed there. They flew over with 2 big waves of planes! They had bomber planes and torpedo planes that destroyed the place. This pushed U.S to join the second World War! | ||||
| "FRONTS" U.S was fighting the war on two main fronts: - West part of the U.S and - Europe. On the west side of the U.S, we had soldiers fighting the Japanese people while up in Europe, we had soldiers fighting the Germans! | ||||
| D-DAY D-Day is when they plan military events like invading. The allies had planed the invasion of Normandy, which is on the coast of France (The Germans had taken it over a while back). They attacked big and they had planes that pounded the Defending Germans and went attacking into the inland. About 2,500 of our allies died and about 4,000-9,000 Germans died | ||||
| HOW DID IT END?? As the allies were kicking but out there in the war, Hitler gets really angry. So he decides to commit suicide. Germany and its other friends then fall apart and get surrounded by U.S allies. Outnumbered they surrendered and that ended that. Now Japan wouldn't give up, so we took atomic bombs and dropped them over on islands and cities in Japan. Finally, they also surrendered. | ||||
