Respiratory System for Kids

Respiratory System

The human respiratory system is made up of organs that help to breathe. Our breathing supplies blood with oxygen which is circulated through our body, allowing oxygen to reach all the body parts. The respiratory system comprises of the mouth, nose, trachea, lungs and diaphragm. In the lungs, oxygen is absorbed while carbon dioxide is expelled.

Respiration - Animation
Grade: 3 - 12
Respiratory system lesson for kids. The lesson shows animation of ventilation and respiration. It covers the journey of air into the lungs, and the transfer of oxygen from the alveoli sacs to the red blood cells in the capillaries.

The Respiratory System
Grade: 5 - 12
Lesson on respiratory system. It describes the respiratory surface, and explains how worms, insects, fish and mammals take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. The lesson covers the major organs of the human respiratory system - pharynx, trachea, bronchus, bronchiole and alveoli. It also explains how oxygen and carbon dioxide are carried on the hemoglobin.

Respiratory System Structure and Function
Grade: 3 - 12
A summary of the basic structure and function of the human respiratory system.

The Respiratory System - How it works?
Grade: 3 - 12
A richly animated presentation of how the respiratory system works. It demonstrates the respiration process, including the transfer of oxygen into the bloodstream and the effect of exercise.

Oxygen Transport from Lungs to Cells
Grade: 5 - 12
The video explains how our lungs absorb oxygen, and its transport to all the cells of the body.

Gas Exchange During Respiration
Grade: 5 - 12
Learn about gas exchange during respiration.

Diseases of the Respiratory System
Grade: 5 - 12
Learn about the causes, symptoms and treatments for common human respiratory system diseases.

Why Do We Yawn?
Grade: 3 - 12
The video discusses why we yawn.

Why Do We Cough?
Grade: 3 - 12
The video explains that coughing is an important reflex that keeps our throat and airways clear from irritants and mucus.

Why Do We Sneeze?
Grade: 3 - 12
Learn why do we sneeze, and how it help our bodies.

Circulatory and Respiratory Systems
Grade: 5 - 12
Follow the circulatory and respiratory systems as they deliver oxygen and remove carbon dioxide from cells, and make it possible for our bodies to function. The lesson explains: respiratory system, simple diffusion, respiratory anatomy, lung function and diaphragm. It also covers circulatory system and its anatomy.

The Lungs and Pulmonary System
Grade: 5 - 12
Learn about the pulmonary system including the lungs, larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli and thoracic diaphragm.

Introduction to Cellular Respiration
Grade: 7 - 12
Introduction to cellular respiration, glycolysis, the Kreb's Cycle, and the electron transport chain.

Microanatomy of the Lungs
Grade: 7 - 12
